Many others- look for them...
There are lots of books on prophecy out there. Many promote views that weaken The Church, promote a distorted view of God, or inspire not faith but fear. God has not given us a spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7).
Our Lord called us to live lives of boldness and victory. A proper understanding of His plan of the ages will help us do that. To understand His concept of Restoration, what His Kingdom is all about, and to get an idea where we might be on His prophetic timetable. That's not setting dates but rather, staying attuned to the times and seasons.
Some key areas are laid out in the download. Prophetic themes, what's important to Our Lord, What did He give us to learn and know? Daniel gave us several big pictures, that we could see the broad shape of the world at the time of the very end- and how close we are to that. And in the seven Kingdom Parables we see an overview of church history, as well as giving us a framework for both the Seven Churches and Seven Seals of Revelation.
And by that time, many questions have been answered and many passages that sound ominous have been placed into a historical perspective. Suddenly, it's a big, wide world out there, and there's a lot less to be afraid of!
I want to do more than entertain, I want to teach, convince, and promote change in the lives of those who read my books. Ideas are dangerous, they have the power to overthrow the established order. A fearsome monster exists in our world, a thought-numbing, close-ranked mindset that permeates all of society. How do we destroy it? How do we even properly identify it?
Ultimately it comes down to two kingdoms, the earth and all of history being the battlefield. It encompasses all the wars, the struggles, the triumphs, and the pain of the human condition. It's far bigger than Republican vs. Democrat, Capitalist vs. Socialist, Christian vs. Islam, Liberal vs. Conservative, or any other dividing line we try to rally behind.
Gary's first novel began life as a concept in 1977, written out first in longhand and then pounded out on a vintage "Underwood Model 5" typewriter with glass-faced keys and Victorian stenciling. The concept was set aside until almost 30 years later, when Gary realized it was still a story that needed to be told. So here it is, the little boy, adrift in a big universe, who's beginning to realize that everything he'd poured his life into was wrong... More about Gary Hughes, here.
